I would encourage you all to come along and to participate in the triduum of prayer and the Sung Mass at St Theresa's on the 1st October which this year is being offered by Fr Kieran; this is a great opportunity to seek the powerful intercession of St Theresa for our own intentions and those of the world. We thank Fr Adrian as always for his generosity and welcome in hosting and supporting our Masses and devotions.

We also extend our thanks to the Eckington Singers who have been rehearsing very hard to learn the Schubert Mass and the various choral motets. As always there will be light refreshments served in the Parish Hall afterwards and everyone is cordially invited along.

Update - Sunday 8th September 2013 - Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Due to unforeseen circumstances, it isn't going to be possible to hold our scheduled Mass for the Nativity of the BVM in the the Eyre Chapel at Newbold. However, Fr Craig Fitzpatrick is still very keen to offer the Mass for us and so we have agreed that rather than cancel, we will now have the Mass at Staveley instead. The revised details are shown below:

Sunday 8th September 2013 - Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
2.30 p.m. Rosary followed at 3.00 p.m. with a Sung Mass
St Joseph's Church,
Chesterfield Road,
Staveley,
S43 3QF

Sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused; I know that several of you had said that you were looking forward to visiting the Eyre Chapel but alas this is unavoidable. I would like to thank Fr Craig for his very kind offer of transferring the Mass; the important thing to remember is that we still have a Mass and devotions to honour our Blessed Lady and I would encourage as many of you as possible to come to Staveley if you can and show your support and appreciation to Fr Craig. It is several years since we visited there and it is nice to be going back again. Who knows, we may even be able to establish something more regularly there for the future? Divine providence is a wonderful thing!
